Interest rates at rock bottom, stocks popular again, most stocks trading at pe > 15, numerous rights issues and placements... Time to exercise caution lest you be left holding a monkey!

I will consider it a bull market when index is way above this level and daily turnovers over a long period are about 800M and above. As in when there is a lot of buzz about shares. When even the watchman at the gate is asking 'leo safaricom share in pesa ngapi?'

but safaricom is the counter at the bourse which most people bought into (including mama mboga). a question on safaricom doesn't mean someone knows the NSE.
a pal of mine was thinking that if he sees 16mn, that is the amount the company got for that day. so he asked, ''dont people call using safacom on weekends?''

When there is a raging bull market, it will be evident. There will be no need to ask this question. It will be like asking is the sky blue?

@the deal spoken like a true intelligent investor...

the evidence of a true bull market is the presence of HEALTHY corrections as this is simply a weeding out process of speculators...

But as long as sentiment and fundamentals remain good then the bull market is here to stay...

@thedeal, astute and guru, insightful. On the other hand there are fears that interest rates may rise: www.businessdailyafrica....552/1058464/-/9r2131z/-/ . Are we about to see a slowdown in the bull or will the expected global double dip recession become a reality?

Even Centum hasn't been badly off over the last couple of days... Could be at 30 by the time results are out next month.
