I'm totally bitter at the generation that completed KCSE between 1992 and 2001.Through mois policy of national plunder ,political patronage, tribalism , the country went to the dogs.Dilapidated roads, negative economic growth, rampant unemployment ensured that those who left school remained hopeless in their lives.Even teachers and doctors were not guaranteed employment.

when I go to upcountry , I get very disapointed and get very moved when I see my peers , who were very bright in school just roaming around in the village after going into dispair and hopelessness and joining drug and alcohol abuse to find some solace due to inability to get gainful employment due to a failed economy.

It would only be fair If Moi was made to pay for this wastage by being made to return illegally acquired wealth and money stashed in foreign accounts.
Moi is a national shame and he should just retire in shame and watch how a country should be run as he waits to answer his shameful acts to his maker.Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you

This can be used to uplift the lives of the current generation since a majority of 1992-2001 KCSE graduands are just at a point of no return

Those old enough can attest to this.

@newfarer, why 1992-2001?I think most of us who sat KCSE in the dying yrs of Moi administration have had it easier joining employment or biz world.
What a wicked man I am!The things I want to do,I don't do.The things I don't want to do I find myself doing

By 1992, Moi had been in power for 14 years!

Enough time to bring the whole nation to its knees....

The last days are the worst days

The first 10 years of Moi werent as bad economically , International support was still present.Civil servants were being employed.Teachers and Doctors were guaranteed employment immediately after training.

Then came the goldenberg scandal in 1992 /1993.Everything went haywire. The price of 2kg maize meal shot from Ksh 10 to 25 ,Bread from 5 to 17 within a year not because of draught but because of economic mismanagement( wajukuu wangu wacheni niwaambie i might have to add this for those who were too young to comprehend this) )

Moi's crownies became bolder and went on stealing rampage within the remaining 10 years. In 2002 the economy was a retard

Aemathenge , I have not directly created employment, but I am proud to tell you that on 20 Oct 2010 , my phone had a problem , I went to a fundi ( a youngman hitherto unkown to me). I observed that many customers were coming to his kiosk asking batteries , airtime and other phone accessories which he did not have.

I asked him if he knew of the Youth fund. He grumbled abit and said it was for the rich.
I promised to get him more information on the internet on the fund , which I did.

I told him to try and he agreed and now he is upbeat and hopeful to succeed in getting 50000/= for his business.

He is working on a business plan .

Believe me this is not a lie or a feel good story .

Only lack of information is hampering the youth now.During Mois time , there was nothing ,nothing kabisa unless you bribe your way into police , army and civil service.
Now the youth fund , and equity loans are available .

No!

If you did your KCSE in 1992; then you were not mature enough to feel the systematic economic break-down of the Moism from a 1978 to 1991.

That was the time that Moi killed the following:
KPCU
KTDA (A=authority; not the present Agency!)
KFA (he renamed it KGGCU at one time)
KCC
Pyrethrum Board
Cotton Board
KNTC (can you remember this one?)
KMC
Kenya Railways
Kenya Airways (which was later revived in a deal with BA --- KLM came in later to buy a stake)
KCB
NBK
etc

It was also the time that he killed the social support system - health, education etc.

By 1992, tulikuwa tumezoea kukaa ngumu. Those taking KCSE at that time were simply maturing and realising that the country has been take to the dogs.
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
