Would MPs have recommended buyout if Wenyenchi banks were not involved?

Will the MPs recommend buyout for Uchumi and Mumias shareholders?

“The two tonnes capacity for the flower exporters is just a drop in the ocean as compared to the current market demand of more than 10 tonnes. If what we are delivering in New York is a small quantity, it will not be able to create the necessary hype around the Kenyan flower brand,” said Tulezi.
The Kenya Flower Council said it is engaging the Trade PS Dr. Chris Kiptoo who promised to bring onboard his Transport counterpart Esther Koimett, to discuss the matter before engaging the Kenya Airways.
Currently, KQ’s is the only direct flight to the US from Kenya and its cargo space is always fully booked leaving exporters to use connecting flights which have high risks and adversely affect the quality of the produce upon arrival to the designated markets.

kq should take this opportunity before a competitor comes in

They should have rekitted the 777-300ER and roll a dice

Haha, looks like the massive capital wipeout you've faced hasn't phased you. If that plane was brought back we'd start heading back to 2015 numbers

2015 figures were partly due to the massive fraud unearthed by the forensic audit. Even fuel was being stolen. With an expanded network that plane can serve KQ very well. No major difference with the -200ER KQ operated for a decade.

Do not rely so much on Ngunze’s shallow arguments and decisions. He had no expertise in aviation at all.

It's a good plane. I just don't think there is any route KQ can operate that plane efficiently in. Maybe after a few years after the airline has expanded enough.

At a time when KQ badly needs capacity Mikosz chose to extend the sub-lease to TK. That tells you everything. KQ cannot fill a 400 seat plane. Not now, maybe in the next 5 years they can. We shall see.

Why not convert the 777-300 to a 250-300 (from 400) seats plane by adding cargo space. Use it for the China route. Lots of goods come via Nairobi onwards to Central, Southern and West Africa especially to cities that Emirates, Etihad and Qatar don't serve.

KQ could be the first airline with a 777 combi. Or 3!

"When ordering the new 747s, KLM knew that they would be unable to completely fill the aircraft on some of their routes. This made the Combi aircraft very attractive for the carrier, as it allowed them to earn cargo revenue to make up for the lack of passenger revenue." https://airlinegeeks.com...g-klms-unique-747-combi/

Is this even possible?

My take, add more of the planes that are freakishly good at ferrying passengers efficiently (787's and 737 Max/A321 neo)

I wish there was a way in which KQ could switch the 77W for the 787-9..

Grow KQ cargo with more freighters.

True cargo would make the company quite a bit of cash... It is a neglected divison at the airline...
