As expected 7.00 to 8.00 tough resistance zone is rejecting the bulls advance intraday. This will take vigorous bid power to breakdown that resistance.

That zone will be broken sooner than soon. The weaker traders are selling off at exactly the wrong time

Tomorrow has arrived.
Wapi high steroids?

Lol. A trading day is judged at the end

Mkt has closed and the counter has traded flat.

Its normal

I guess this is heading to 5.90 again

That is a pipe dream, but if it happens; intelligent investors should buy more.. Any price below KES 10 is a steal

@vvs and @ericsson need to say something. I miss them and their misguided comments

@Obiero
I'm watching

Today will undoubtedly show the direction of this stock! Huge volume is not 100% assurance of a rally. It can also mean the end of the rally.

In the trading world huge vol at resistance can also mean absorption that is done to clear supply before bulls can continue.

@hisah thank you for schooling our brother.. this rally is tied to two upcoming big announcements by KQ, not the arrival of Mikosz

One of the many counters worth dumping loads of cash...returns will be insane...how low do you think this will go? Probably not much lower than current rates. I only have one hope with KQ...direct flights to US. As long as those pigs in parliament can pass that bill and open the terminal, Kenya will be accorded the much awaited category 1 once the FAA conducts the inspection. Honestly I can't wait to get some returns and exit without looking back...I've been patient for a while and haven't sold even a single share...I'm even tired on buying...how much can one accumulate l0l I know CFC guys be like, here he goes again..l0l

15 years ago KQ used to trade at 5.50-7.00 range. Stock is now below that price not because of splits or bonuses, having done a rights issue!

Learn from history. History says that airlines in general and KQ in particular are bad investments. Be smart.

@sparkly.. U forgot to tell us that it also traded at KES 126.. To each his own, if airlines were bad investments, then planes wldnt be built, we wldnt have airports.. Seems simplistic, but it is altruist. It depends on the strategy of the airline, otherwise, people like Branson and Buffet wldnt own Virgin & Jetways

NetJets Unrest Puts Warren Buffett in a Rare Pinch
Pilots Protest Against Pay, Benefits at Berkshire Hathaway’s NetJets

"In the case of NetJets, the pressure to complete the turnaround of a business Mr. Buffett once called his “number one worry” is now spilling into public view."

"In the 16 years that Berkshire has owned NetJets, the jet operator has never paid its owner a dividend, and its net worth is considerably less than the $725 million Berkshire paid for it in 1998" This was from a 2015 article. WB would have been better off putting the money in the bank!

"worsened amid extended contract negotiations with multiple unions representing pilots, flight attendants, mechanics and others. NetJets, based in Columbus, Ohio, has about 6,200 employees, a majority of whom belong to unions."

"NetJets took a major hit during the financial crisis as wealthy clients cut back on private flying, surviving only because Berkshire guaranteed its $1.9 billion debt load."

1) NetJets isn't an 'airline' as much as Uber [which owns planes].
2)NetJets is a pain for WB. Not one of his best performers. Too much drama.
3) No dividends. It has had negative cashflow in many years.
4) Despite all this is has a POSITIVE equity/capital whereas KQ has NEGATIVE capital.

"Everyone but shareholders made money off KQ." True or False?

I wish I could pull up the discussion where VVS swore that Buffet would never touch an airline stock.

Well only fools dont change their minds

American Airlines, Southwest, Delta, United

Quote:
Berkshire also reported a $9.3 billion airline stake, with investments topping $2.1 billion in each of American Airlines Group Inc (AAL.O), Delta Air Lines Inc (DAL.N), Southwest Airlines Co (LUV.N) and United Continental Holdings Inc (UAL.N).

He also gets into technology APPLe- 57.4 million shares of Apple as of Dec. 31. At one time he wouldnt touch any of them apart from IBM ofcourse

Again, only fools and dead men don't change their minds.

Good morning!

Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger are brilliant chaps. I understand why they would buy Delta, SWA, AA or even United. So I looked at KQ again.
No, KQ is no Delta. Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you

KQ could have been Delta but the "real owners" blew it.

8 March 2017. I speak in code.

KQ is where AA was 3 years ago, they will pull through but the myth that Buffett would never touch airline stock is busted. I guess he threw away the 800 number. Only fools and dead men don't change their minds.

To all holding KQ. All the best.

Huge negative equity & debts hobble KQ. Didn't AA go through restructuring under bankruptcy hence wiping out the debt?

Even if KQ makes 5bn per year, without new shareholder capital, it will take 7 years to get to zero capital. Good luck.

We are not in here upto 7 years from now. Tunaokota pesa this year tukielekea. Traders not investors

Utaelekea wapi @obiero. Lots of talk here. Buying kq is like buying mayai ya sino ndio upelekee gachechi(kienyeji hen) yako for Hutching. Hot air. Buying hope is not an investment strategy. Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

Now @vvs mentor increases stake in South West and flyAA http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN18B2LH

Yes! Both are solidly profitable firms. I may look at KQ after it is recapitalized i.e. the -ve equity is wiped out. Currently I am buying KK & banks.

@Obiero; Is this the reason this stock has lost almost 10% today? I thought you said upward rally is the only option
