I have recently unlocked a zain modem but the orange simcard refuses to connect to the internet does anyone have the orange settings

Ajhsumar, yours are the settings for the CDMA modem.
Kegtech, you need settings for your GSM modem. Pewa below:

APN:bew.orange.co.ke
Access number *99***1#

Blank password will do, the rest u may fill in anything u wish :)

Can CDMA sim card be used in An unlocked ZAIN modem?

No. Orange is blocking IMEI numbers that arent there. Btw the Orange 3G modem is only ksh 2,000.00 down from 4,000.00 . I am sure you can afford .

Orange sold me an Edge modem which i really hate coz of its speed. Was looking for 3G instead. Can they trade in with a 3G modem ?

NO. Those are two distinct & incompartible technologies (CDMA & GSM)
