A 45 second clip to be aired 9 times a day for the next 6 months on CNN.Kudos to KTB.It makes 'Malaysia.Truly Asia' look like a poor piece of art.

Must cost an arm and a leg.

I guess the resultant benefits far outweigh the cost.

This is total wastage of money. America is going through a deep recession and the idea of vacationing in Kenya is ridiculous to most. This money would have been well spent promoting Kenya in African states.

Most Americans vacation domestically since the US has everything to offer. Those who dare go abroad choose the Carribean,Mexico or Europe. The few Americans who venture to Kenya are the few wealthy bazungus who dont need CNN ads to go to Kenya.

When in doubt,follow the money.

@tb,I beg to differ. Note that recession wont last 4eva. Secondly, the clip leaves a lasting impression that will last beyond the recession....and of cos some of the rich bazungus who probably never knew/thought of kenya might be jolted back to their senses...

The only reason why some people are still alive is coz its illegal to shoot them!!

What stops me from watching a Malaysian,Egyptian or Croatian promotional clip on CNN?.CNN is everywhere and destination Kenya is not targeting Americans only.

If you've got good computer speakers, watch it on you tube. See link below.

@TB

mmmmmmmh,i am just wondering aloud... do you have anything better to say about kenya.... when we do something, you pour cold water on it... if we dont do it,you criticize... dont you get tired of negativity?

Assuming our target was only the Americans, dont you think we would be giving an alternative to those going to the carribean and mexico... some other place of choice, and if only the few wealthy come here, then dont you think the clip will catch the eye of the other wealthy who dont come, and the less wealthy who do not know kenya exists? Have you ever heard of something like 'building capacity before demand'? thats what kenya is trying to do... and if we can ride on the publicity already given by Obama.... it would be cheaper to get people think of kenya now, than later when they have forgotten about the historic event!!!

I think its a good idea.

World recession watchers state that the West will not go on holiday this summer, but will be compelled to take a break from the stress near Christmas time, which is traditionally our peak tourist season.

A pal of mine flew in from the US and was so pleased to see we have halved visa fees.

Well done Tourism Ministry (or whoever),keep it up!

Guys this is what we have been waiting for the last fifteen years instead of the stupid exibitions which only served to enrich K.T.B officials with per diem instead of marketing Kenya as a tourist destination..

@Tusker Baridi - you know how sometimes its better to go to a chemist on Tom Mboya for the same original drugs rather that go to a chemist at Yaya or Sarit? I think even with the current hardships,Kenya is still an affordable destination in many senses - even more than Europe,South America. Lets think positive - we need to!

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less
