Do not think about when the market will tank.It is simply time to buy for there will never be a better chance.......Warren says if you wait for the Robins, spring will be gone.......Am doing exactly that......buying buying buying and more buying......but don't follow me blindly....meanwhile........ http://business.timesonl...ance/article4968888.ece

Buffet was refering to the advanced global market mainly US (nyse, nasdaq, amex) Third world ( frontier) markets are peculiar. Nse (nairobi) is more peculiar. This market was already bearish before the crunch. This is only my opinion. You are your best teacher. Majority opinion may not necessary be the best opinion. @njunge..... Warren B. also belives everytime is buyin tym...as long as you kno what u are doin. Everyone here is buyin...pain is that lookin at the prices now u feel u shouldn't have bought when u did!!... Its not about buying... Its how u do it. Warren's way is periodical consistent buying over time regardless what market is doin... He 's made jokes about never havin seen stock prices for last 3 years!.. Either spread buy...or if buyin at once do it on strategic planning. Buy at once when u are convinced of turnaround. I'm pretty sure that personally u know and know so well that market isn't picking up soon..especially with coop goin on.

Advanced or not, peculiar or not,the trends in all markets have similar traits........ @Jammo, You have put it rightly. To continue spread buying for the entire bargain period.Of course you do not expect to wake up one morning and walk up my broker with 10M and tell him..'Give me one of those'...The more the bear lasts, the better. @ Njunge I was also looking for exactly this link coz i read it somewhere recently,I think the man summarises everything on stock trading, thats what has made him richer than the Kenya,Uganda and Tanzania,he does not have a glitzy new product to sell,he just sells insurance and buys shares. He may not look at stock prices, but he does look at balancesheets and company values. He recently sunk $5billion in the NYSE,targetting General electric and Morgan Stanley (an investment bank!!!!!). We don't know how long the NSE will sink, but entry at current prices is a good idea. Take a case like Safcom @3.85,KCB @20,KQ@35,equity@180. Bargain!!! bargain!!! bargain. @Ngunje, Chronic bearishness just like AIDs is real in nse !!! For retail investors like us skill of managing bull market is different from bear market. One of the popular skills is hold it and observe to get a stable price. Knowing the stable price is a different subject for another forum or future seminar. I had held cash watching my most sought afterKCB at 26,25,24,24.....20 and it will not be a suprise if it goes below 20 this week or next all happening within a spade of 6 weeks. For people with large capital it is not a problem. But for retail investor like me trying to build my next egg,all shilings counts to average out. .I pray all of us manage the situation well. I This is my last 2 cents on this subject. @Young, It's not really a matter of large pockets.Ordinary folks like you and me do it all the time.Nobody, here or even in high heaven can predict when the prices reach rock bottom. In your case, you could have picked bits at 24,22,20 and maybe even 19.Suppose today's price is the last least?....An upswing comes with a huge momentum. In a matter of days and before your buy order goes through the thing goes to 35..........You would agree it's better to be on the sideline cheering an upsurge than chasing fast moving buses....Again,it's all about buying for long term.Buffet for example is targeting 2016... and am also not in a hurry too....
