The cheapest package is from Kampala coack;Kes 55,000 excluding accomodation, food and match tickets.
I think its still expensive considering a trip to SA through air will cost an average of 30,000 and last just under 5 hours.

flight deals cost $5000 for round matches and upto $10000 for finals. Accomodation in a 2* hotel.

I wonder who will spend that kind of cash to get mugged?

lol @kularaha. I see security concerns are real. I think security will be beefed up several times over. however, dont carry your gold watch!

i foresee a massive 'welcoming' party just past the border crossing for anyone doing the bus trip.

but what do you expect from a country where the prezzo's favorite song is 'umshini wami' (bring me my machine gun)?

the truth is that these things are just too expensive for the average african.

I was in Joburg and Pretoria for the cricket IPL semis and final...and I tell you it was well organised but the security was crap!! We walked in and out of the stadiums without anyone even bothering to check out tickets properly...

Given cricket fans are less boisterous than footy ones (esp if the mad english thugs arrive), I wonder what will happen during the world cup.....

I think the issue regarding security in SA is a bit overhyped and quite frankly walking in Joburg CBD is no different than in Nairobi or even New York.

I think this blanket assumption that it's dangerous and one will always get mugged is abit overplayed. I was there during the Lion's Tour and there were no issues regarding security or hooliganisms for that matter.I think the care one would take in any big city is the same as one requires in Joburg, in my own experience i have felt more vulnerable in New York than in Joburg my opinion don't believe everything you see or read.

That said June 11 i will be there have a ticket for the second round matches and i think the packages here are way too expensive, there are cheaper options in UK than here, guess it's the same way Mcdonalds burger is cheaper than a burger in Steers or Nandos and the quality is worlds apart.

The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday's logic.

actually s.africa or joburg in particular depends on where you are staying. in sandton uko mayuu, in hillsborough woi mguu niponye. but the matatu drivers have a temper to die for.

I frequently use the Nrb-Ksm road and of the broken down buses along the route, Akambas dominate (not tarnishing their name - it is a fact). So what are the chances that an Akamba to SA will get there?
I hear bed nights will cost upwards of US$ 500 and fans from Europe plan to set base in Kenya and fly to SA and back after the game on the days of their countries matches. Is KQ a stock worth purchasing now?
