Is it me or is this paper becoming harder to ignore? Today was especially hard considering the Raila Plot and the Esther Arunga story.

I remember the biggest challenge they'd complained of was people 'LIKE ME' just glossing over at the newsstand then buying a Nation.

Yielded today and noticed their unrestrained air on stories - not too many adverts though. Has it grown on you yet?

Tabloid newspaper with nothing to offer Kenyans but sensational and scandalous material...

The reason I cant stand Caroline Mutoko. I find her deceptive..shedding tears for the country then doing evrything she can to divide the extremely fragile fabric holding Kenyans together. The media is on the verge of letting us down again in 2012.

I usually glance at the headlines.... and when someone else buys it, I read it. Admittedly, I also have not bought a regular newspaper for a while..

Forgive my ignorance if you may, but is the paper in question written by Ms. Caroline Mutoko?

Ok the Star as it's called nowadays does have some great exclusives and juicy scandals like today's copy on how Esther Arunga has joined some cult. But they should not try to compete with Nation or Standard on politics or political coverage. These 2 papers are giants when it comes to siasa and have done it with relish and zeal for the last 7 to ten decades. The Star cannot dislodge them when it comes to political reporting unless it's a major exclusive. I suggest they stick to real life issues, scandals and some gossip. They must cultivate their own niche and recruit own customers. Trying to invade the turf of the giant Nation will not work!

My interest is piqued. I cannot trace it in our Kerugoya newstands. Is the paper distributed country wide or is it part of those peculiars of Nailovi?

Like Kenyanbeef and Njunge I dont subscribe/buy this kapaper.I only see guys who like gossips and tabloid like stories buying it.Just a thought about MutokoLiar Liar having a column, completely turns me off.

All said and done, it already has its own niche and has also attracted some revenue in terms adverts esp the gover ones.

The great People of Kenya are quickly becoming gossipers and rumour mongers.
Thats all you hear left right centre.
The Nairobi star so that gap.
...William Pike was the MD for Ugandas New Vision ....so he could not practice there but took the gap.
The problem with tabloids is that they are all metal on the first page and bull crap on the rest.
I dont read it though.i Just peep at the headlines,in traffic ofcourse !
I bet there are a lot more people who read the Nairobi star than the Business daily, but where is the metal good people

I think having such a paper here in kenya is a plus for one I dont like reading all posive thinks about someone or something I need the negative side also since we are all human. What star is doing is expose those cracks that exist in the society which I think is good regadless of who is reporting.

Kangi that captures my perception of her 100%- nothing personal but I find her an airhead who can't add value and a rabid attention seeker. Ask anyone who knew her when she was at Capital FM. Remember also the saga of someone else parking at her BMW's (or was it a merc, then)parking space.
Overall something not appealing about the paper

Thought mutoko is just one contributer to The star.

Am I sensing some hate for this great girl called Caro Mutoko?Give her credit. She revolutionized the Kenyan radio to its current levels.Maybe all that is required is a new kid on the block to take it to the next level.

Apart from the day the headline was, HELL-ON EARTH FOR ARUNGA, I haven't even looked at it this year.

I bought it when it first came out, since then, I don't want to see it.

Even as a tabloid it doesn't capture the eye, and that is saying something, like when you call someone a fool, that is an insult to fools!!!
