@suwan I'm informed they require 3 guarantors and must be members of the sacco

@ngatts Refer to http://www.sasra.go.ke/
It should help you confirm that the sacco you end up choosing is licensed. They would also have all the info you need on setting up your own sacco.

Kilele sacco is based at Kuscco Centre, opposite the new TSC in upper hill, please pay them a visit. I know the majority members are employees of Kuscco (kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies - kuscco)and their friends and relatives etc.....

Kilele is also open to other people outside Kuscco for instance KACC and employees from quite a number of companies. i was a member at one point but left after moving from the city.

@ngatts Did you find a sacco to join? I am a programmer and I want to join a sacco ASAP. My concerns are 1. Rates, 2. Number of Guarantors needed.

Another question to everyone is, would a sacco allow you to have your working spouse in the same sacco to be your guarantor?

I didn't join the sacco because of some issues. But was going for Kilele. May be when I'm a little bit freed up financially.

Yes you can.

You can just withdraw/cheque from your sacco and deposit in new sacco.

As for shares, they are also transferrable to another member or to another sacco but you can't withdraw them.

Is your current one Mhasibu?
