obopay has finally landed in partnership with YU. Yu on the other hand has entered a partnership with Equity for distributorship.

This money transfer service will, in my opinion, offer little competition since equity bank offers Mpesa services and other mobile banking services.

This mobile money thing is on every telecoms agenda. Even Nokia is launching theirs. But can't help but feel Nokia is always late to the party... Ovi Online Store, Nokia touch screen phones, even saw a new Nokia store in Hilton...

Yeah, MPESA maintains the lead on this one. Obopay and ZAP will have to give very very strong cases to catch up in terms of market share. Why, for example, should I ZAP? Yes, it's cheaper, but zap agents are few and far between. What's the case for Obopay?
