Fellow Investors,

Sometimes in July 2009,I went out to my broker and bought some 100,000 KCB Shares @22.75. A month later I went and ordered 8,000 more of KCB @ 21.75. During the second visit to my broker,I also bought some 5700 shares of Kengen @12.80. Prices for these,like the rest,are sliding down,very fast. My question: Even if KCB & KENGEN recover,what is the highest figure they can attain two years from right now! Give me hope guyz!! I'm a businessman,used to winning,I don't like loosing- though sometimes inevitable.

Patience is a virtual in this market,only 3 months and you are already whining? I hold some KCB @ 30 from a year ago and i am not selling at a loss as yet.But in this market you cant be a winner all the time,you have to accept the occasional 'come on'! to jolt you out of the slumber.Consider buying more of the shares at lower prices that way your average buy is lower,in the long run you will be in the money.

see it through my lens?

KCB has risen an average of 15.78% in fourth quarters (Oct-Dec) since 2004. There's no reason why this one should be any different. I haven't been looking at KenGen so I don't know about her.

I'd like to point out something if you'll let me.

Assuming that this is your entire portfolio,I estimate that (before costs) you have sunk in 2,521,960. By some standards,this is a tidy sum that should be professionally managed. (I'm puzzled that 97.11% of your portfolio is tied in one financial counter) {Ignore my signature}

You indicate in your profile that your chief investment advisor is your broker/agent? If s/he advised you on this transactions,perhaps you should consider finding a new broker/agent.

When one decides to invest,the first course of action should be to come up with or get help in drawing an investment plan which also outlines your investment objectives. Perhaps you would care to shed some light on what yours are.

Ghetto-2 yrs is a looong time at the NSE. KCB will recover nicely maybe even to around Ksh25+ in that time. KenGen-well... you said give you hope so I'll keep quite.

before i give you hope first let me caution you...

next time you better try spread buying...buying in bits....say like a case of kcb you could have bought like 10,000 shares per week....another you should not put all your eggs in the same basket....

having said that,let me say that kcb is not a bad counter and it will in no time regain... you said you bought it at 22.75? that is already less than the right issue price... be patient and you shall triumph!

Mafia in Ghetto

Why seek HOPE instead of REALITY??????? Ask the Americans how that HOPE thing they got from Obama is working? What were your reasons to buy those counters three months ago. Revisit those days and you'll be alright. About being used to winning,yeah that must be in your business. Stock pickinking might not be your business. Don't think you gonna bully your way through the NSE.

patience is the greatest asset when it comes to the NSE,i feel for you,but its not hope you need,its patience,if after the said two years things are still dismal,then you can ask for hope.
