For example,instead of leasing the Tana belt to the Saudi's or the Qataris,we can put the land ourselves under irrigation and feed our people.of course sell the surplus to the same people who want to lease the land.
I have seen contrasting pictures of Ukambani,where one village is harvesting maize during this time of famine while the next village is dying.All because of good planning.What if we make this a priority.Would Ukambani ever again go hungry?

and what about harnessing wind and solar power?initial investment is high but think of the reprieve from the overreliance on hydro?furthermore,you are guaranteed that the sun will continue shining.
