Now that the presence of the dreaded H1N1 virus has been confirmed in Kenya, what do guys think will happen from a social, health and economic perspective. Kenyans generally have a cavalier attitude towards health matters. This coupled with cultural norms (e.g. shaking of hands) and others such as poor awareness and even lack of water makes it diffcult to practise the measures for combating the spread of the virus. Isn't this a recipe for fast spread of the disease. What does this augur for our already battered tourism sector? Are people likely to shun travelling to Kenya or even flying on Kenya Airways? What of other sectors such as restaurants and even entertainment spots. Any impact on shares such as EABL?
