Kenyan Media think we live in Purgatory

I may be alone in this but I am of the view that negativity breeds negativity. I have decided to avoid reading the Kenyan media especially the standard group as they are totally negative about life.
If every day the headlines are about one politician 'attacking' another, how can anyone be comfortable to invest?
This Migingo thing is being overhyped. What does the media want us to do? Go to war? On the same week that politicians want to fight for carpets?
there is a lot of positive news in Kenya. I just met a former parking boy running his own business. Single women who are taking their children to school in this tough economy. A good samaritan who paid for the locked out women in KNH. Young Kenyans starting and succeeding in their own businesses. HIV positive people surviving against impossible odds.
There is no shortage of good news in Kenya but if you read the Kenyan media or watch the news, you would think that Kenya= Haiti. You would think that Kenyans are wallowing in misery and one step away from purgatory. You would think that the only people who have an opinion are politicians.
what can be done about this?
