I have realized that brokers charge different fee per transaction. I thought there was a regulation on the brokerage fee to be charged. For example, if you buy 100 shares of Equity at 53 bob, at NCBA, you will pay 113.3 bob for the transaction, while at AIB, you will pay 99.94 bob for the same.
Some of us who are cautious even na 50 cents, think that, it's wise to know why the discrepancies.
Anyone who knows which broker charges lowest fee?
Anyone who can help elaborate why the huge differences?... the pros and cons.
Before introduction of 14% VAT on the commission and service fees, the fee would be 2.1% of the trade value for purchases of 100k and below. For purchase of 100k and above the fee would be 1.85%. For very large purchases, negotiated rates possible.
From your example NCBA fee = 113.3/5300 = ~2.1%, AIB fee = 99.94/5300 = ~1.9%
Its best you get incharge with AIB/NCBA and find why the difference.
