Change is the only constant thing on earth. Lake Chad was once larger than Lake Victoria and now only a small part remains. A few days ago some hotsprings in Rwanda that had formed a little lake disappeared.

Remember how a few years ago there was heavy rain around Suswa and then suddenly the ground cracked and all the water dissapeared into the cracks. There are many areas in Rift Valley that have a history of cracks appearing in the ground. The ground is always shifting.

In Northern Kenya south of Lake Turkana there is a little lake called Lake Logipi that was once a big lake called Lake Suguta that just drained away some thousands of years ago.

This is not nature taking its course. This disaster as well as the impending ecological disaster are both man made and are in large part due to deforestation.

If Lake Baringo underground channels start draining into the lake Bogoria, the disaster could kill tourism in the area since one is freshwater and the other is alkaline.

All these are preventable
