As an experienced NSE trader and guru, I think your portfolio is too big if you are investing for long term. But if buying for speculation(<2yrs), then the potofolio is okay.

Hmm, why is it too big for long term?

Not sure about the value of his portfolios but my thinking is that small traders need not have more than three counters

What do you consider a small trader?

Someone who is yet to fully understand market dynamics, detail analysis of a company's financial statements.
That's all of us especially me. I am woefully short of understanding the markets and financial statements.

Though some may not have 50% but may be considered the majority eg Vodafone with 35-40%.

Let me say, if your name is lumped together with other masafara's as "other shareholders" you're a small trader.

Is governmeny of kenya a minority shareholder in KCB?
If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Which portal are you using? I can see trades being executed. In fact, some like Fahari I-Reit have registered an intra-day high of 10/= which it hasn't touched in a long while...

I understand the returns from BAT, Coop and SCBK. EABL share price doesn't move much, and their DY is about 4%. What's the attraction here?

Disclosure: I hold a chunk of EABL despite my reservations.

This is a cautious approach indeed .BAT,EABL and Stanchart are mature businesses.Coop should adopt a robust approach but they are playing sluggishly which is good for a cautious investor.
Will ABSA adopt a robust approach or a laid back approach? let's see with the rebranding still going on.
I will encourage you to add one robust stock to give you balance.
