Many Naija people are insufferable. They will always remind you of how Naija is the giant of Africa blah blah blah. I had to tell one of them that nobody calls them "giant of Africa" besides themselves.
Its true that there are some things that Kenya does better than Naija. Vice versa is also true.
Both sets of countries need to face the bitter truth about what is holding our countries back.
As I see it, Kenyan politicians have succeeded in dividing Kenyans along tribal lines since 1963. This way they can enrich themselves while we are busy fighting each other and calling each other names.
I have seen that some Americans are unhappy with US leadership (Trump) 200+ yrs after US independence. So how will kenya be 200yrs into independence i.e. 2163 AD? Will they be complaining like some Americans?
Americans usually vote bad presidents out.
When Carter ran for re-election in 1980, he lost badly because the economy was in the tank and he was weak on national defence.
When George Bush the first ran for re-election in 1992, he lost because the economy was poor and because he had let down religious and economic conservatives.
The American political system has very little tolerance for failure. Americans will happily vote across political lines when it makes sense. For example, a state like California which is mostly democrat, often has a republican governor. Conversely Louisiana which is republican, now has a Democratic governor.
Also Obama won in 2008 because the election was issue based. If it was tribal or race based, Obama would never stand a chance.
Some Americans may be unhappy with trump as you say, but overall they are happy with their country after 200 years.
