You expected trading of the puny stock while an active takeover by a larger entity is ongoing? The share has only 6 more days left at the NSE.. Farewell plans are at an advanced stage

Does it make sense to chase the 1 Bob interim div before books close in the face of a 5% oncoming dilution?

Plus the drop when share price goes ex dividend.
5% dilution and 5% drop on ex dividend.

All they need is Treasury & NSSF for just over 93%

That was some serious dilution for the rest by Treasury and NSSF.

I wonder how else those preference shares would have ever been realized. Minority NBK shareholders should thank their God

Conversion to be done once approval of the acquisition has been achieved.
The shareholding to be used for approval is the one before conversion of preference shares.
Once they achieve the 75% it will be a two step process.
Convert the preference to ordinary then recalculate the shareholding.
Then swap with newly issued kcb shares

The subtotal on the existing number of shares column is what KCB needs for the acquisition to take place

If this deal dies then CBK should inform the shareholders of NBK that they have 3 months to recapitalize the bank failing which it goes under KDIC. KDIC can than sell the assets to whoever wants them. If anything is left over the shareholders can have it.

The fact is that the current events are formalities. The deal is done and dusted
