I think many Kenyans would take the bribe anyway. You pay players peanuts and call it a "patriotic duty" yet the cost for securing one or two VIPs in the stadium is more than the players entire pay.

BBI will solve it

Kenya doesn't need bribes to lose matches. We lose them for free

That explains why the fixer told the Kenyans that since losing 2-0 is a normal score line for Kenya, they must lose by at least 3-0 to qualify for payment.

Some of the conditions set were outrageous and aimed at ensuring that the payment didn't happen. E.g how do you ensure that your team concedes in the 65th minute of a game, quite unrealistic for anybody with basic soccer knowledge, if you ask me.

It was bizarre, but extremely lucrative to anyone placing such a bet. Odds would pay out north of 30 times.

'Harambee stars players bribed to let in MORE goals'.

Could it be that FIFA can never uphold 'fair play' standards since some teams are more equal than others?

This is a reflection of our rotten culture as Kenyans. In Kenya:

- Police cooperate with robbers and even give them inside information about patrols
- The army is supposed to be in Somalia defending Kenya yet they are busy with the illicit charcoal trade in Kismayu
- Police at the border are taking bribes to let in terrorists
- Illegal somalis are issued with ID cards and birth certificates after bribing
- Doctors are selling body parts from deceased patients
- Doctors give illegal drugs to Kenyans.
- Almost every senior government officials is a thief.

When corruption starts at the very top, you can't expect other Kenyans to be different. Its what Kenyans call kujipanga. William Ruto was on TV boasting about how he became rich through kujipanga.
