Betting companies are aware of 2 factors affecting their business:
1. Gambler fatigue-where erstwhile dedicated gamblers get exhausted due to losses and opt to stop/reduce betting.
2.Increased competition-Entrants are bound to keep increasing thus muddying the pool.

I don't bet but for once my interest has been aroused by this company.

Everyone i meet are discussing sportpesa as if they own it. Now i think its time we own and play the game too.

Anyone here with their recent financial results

The speculators will make money. This IPO is not for the likes of VVS and Obiero who get in a marital relationship with their stocks

The current owners of Sportpesa will exit as major billionaires. If its true they make 100 billion a year in revenue and suppose they have the same margins as Safaricom or slightly lower, we seeing a valuation of maybe 200b to 300b.
Going by this ownership structure (in the link), a guy like Karauri can walk out with 18 billion.

When you see capitalists 'sharing' their wealth with the masses jua ni kubaya.
The fact that they've been pushing the 'jenga bet' so hard should be an indication that they are not doing well.
Anyway, I'll jump in and out very quickly.

I am happy to buy at the IPO and sell to the sods who think they can actually win at gambling!

Kenyan online sports betting firm SportPesa does not plan to go public, Chief Executive Ronald Karauri told Reuters on Thursday.
News agency Bloomberg reported that the company, which operates in Kenya and Britain, planned an initial public offering of its shares in the first quarter of 2019. It cited unnamed sources.
Asked by Reuters if the company planned to go public, Karauri said “no”, without offering further comments.
