If I understand correctly, this is Britam Asset Managers buying for their high net worth clients fund. This means the upside if any for Britam insurance co is limited to the fees that the asset managers will earn. Is this true?

Yes, but the incomes acrue to the asset fund investors. The listed company Britam only makes the fees charged on the fund investors.
