That is how he was able to become an owner of the now split and sold fertilizer/non-cement business of ARM

Not many see what he put in since 1984. They only see the 114M he took out in 2017.

What he put in shows up as his shares/ownership. The salary is different.
Same for other "owner-operators" eg Sarit Shah of I&M, Kirubi of Centum, Bangera of Flame Tree, Thakrar of ScanGroup, etc
Of course, CK is more of an "owner" these days but he was always an "executive" director.

I was told that PHP (& family) owned the office building (both Chiromo and Westwood) and that ARM was a tenant. I may have misheard.
The offices on Chiromo Rd was a house. One of those old [beautiful] houses being torn down all over Nairobi... Sad

ARM Cement has sweetened a deal for buyers of its non-cement businesses, offering them additional assets in Tanzania worth Sh854.6 million for free.

all because of conflict of interest

At this rate, there will be little left for "minority" shareholders of ARM. I wonder if the agreement with CDC gave PHP the right to screw them over!

At the minimum, ARM should get a % of the action from the "free" assets given to Omya/PHP.
Pinner = P
Heights = H
Phuckers = P

P.S. I have no ARM shares but I hope I don't get phucked in my holdings eg Unga [happening as we speak], KenRe [likely to happen], etc

Conspiracy theorists says that it is a deliberate plan to run down the company so that a strategic partner is sought to bail it out. That's when Dangote will come in.

Why would Dangote want a shell?
CDC has to sell its 48% to Dangote or become a partner.
I can see Dangote's interest in the TZ plant given Dangote's plant is in southern TZ whereas the main market for cement is in Dar.
What does PHP or CDC have to gain in running down ARM?
Dangote will not pay 40/- per share which is what CDC paid.
