There seems to be work ongoing inside Uchumi Ongata Ronga. Does anyone have any info? or maybe its just another supermarket about to start.

Uchumi has been on the downward slope for years. No surprise there.

Uchumi inks Sh2.8bn sale contract for Kasarani land.

Uchumi, which owes suppliers over Sh3.6 billion, has been banking on the sale of the land to turn around its fortunes.

Haha. I was looking forward to buy a piece to put up a block of flats. 2brms go for 25k in that area. A block with 6 floors can give you >700k per month.

I think the current building regulations specify that beyond the 5th floor, a lift has to be installed. Which would mean more expenses and a higher rent bracket.
