Who are the front runners. I have just read in the the Ababu Namwamba thread that he would be a candidate. Will Duale survive? Actually how is Duale's position determined? is there an election for leader of majority?

I would like to see a speaker from a deep NASA stronghold. I think it would be interesting if Jubilee got behind a respected Luo elder like Dalmas Otieno for the speakers role. If Mudavadi was to swallow his words and accept the results he can also do an about turn and present himself for the job and i am sure he would get some in Jubilee to support him.

Those positions are politics galore. Most likely the incubements may not change and status quo remains.

? Not for the role of speaker . I think much as we would like to see a less partisan speaker, Mudavadi ni far fetched.
I am happy

Eeeerrrrr......i thought the speaker has to have some bias in law which MdvD doesn't have. I could be wrong but again, with all the newly inherited vitriol from God knows where, mdvd deserves a beating not a state jobsmile

What about Eugene Wamalwa. He has parliamentary experience, he is a lawyer and he comes from the right region. Speaker is third in line to be president and it would be nice to have a Non Mountain, Non Kalenjin person in that position now that we do not have a Prime Minister position.

You are right...Wamalwa is likely to be the next speaker of the National Assembly. His name has been mentioned up there as a possible candidate.

Ababu and Lusaka are likely to be cabinet secretaries

I think he has a private treaty with WSR.... He must have been promised a cabinet position in 2017 if he doesn't win as a MP.... For WSR it is about getting Western Kenya solidly behind him in 2022.

Quote:
Former Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution boss Charles Nyachae has emerged the frontrunner in the race to succeed Mr Ekwee Ethuro as the Speaker of the Senate in the 12th Parliament that convenes next week.

And JB will most likely be back....
Quote:
Mr Ethuro’s head has been placed on the chopping block as it is alleged that Mr Kenyatta and Mr Ruto are unhappy with the way he steered business in the so-called upper chamber.

The source, who did not want to be mentioned, said the displeasure with the former Turkana Central MP is because he is deemed to have sacrificed the interests of the Jubilee Party at the altar of his own image, which undermined the outfit’s performance in the Senate.

Mr Ethuro is accused of ambivalence and not being as vociferous in pushing for the Jubilee agenda as his counterpart in the National Assembly.

He is chairman of Kenya Power. This job is better than any elective job. It is away from the limelight and you get paid handsomely to just sit in meetings. I hear he loves gachungwas so this is the perfect job for such a lifestyle.
