Following the Nike project to enable atheletes run the marathon under 2hrs has been exciting. The race took place today in Italy as the conditions there met the requirements.

CONGRATS!! Eliud Kipchoge finishes the #breaking2 marathon in 2:00:25. He didn't break 2 hours, but he made running history today!

BBI will solve it

Very true. This is the best Nike advertisement ever!
I hope Eliud made good money too. It's also good that he did not break the record because there's definitely a round 2 coming up.

This was fantastic and its the new way of advertising where it establishes a social connection - if any one has seen the latest Heineken advert. Eliud was well paid - he was compensated to sit out the London, Berlin and NY Marathon, he had been preparing for 9 months.

Wilson Kipsang is lined up next to learn sub-2 by Addidas, however Addidas want to do this in an actual marathon. This will be interesting..

The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday's logic.

I liked the Heineken one. They took the pepsi failed ad and made made it better.
So I see Eliud in that case must have made some very good cash.

Yaani Adidas are shamelessly stealing Nike's idea???Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

Bekele is also involved in the adidas project .I can't even begin to imagine the pressure after that performance by kipchoge anything less and Nike has the better shoe.

Kipchoge should now go for the "legitimate" world record lows of 2:01 should cement his GOAT status.

Berlin marathon 2019 - Kenenisa Bekele does 2hrs 1 minute 41 seconds, just 2 seconds shy of Kipchoge's record.

The limits would have been pushed if Kipchoge was present in Berlin Marathon 2019 head to head with in form Bekele. The only reason Bekele & Kipchoge don't post better times is the pace makers burn out so a head to head would be awesome.

Berlin is the flattest of Marathon courses all records broken there.

Kipchoge is preparing for breaking 2 #INEOS159 challenge in Vienna, Oct 12th - 20th [weather permitting]. This #INEOS159 challenge must be very profitable for Him to miss Berlin Marathon.

Siku hizi running is big business. Kipchoge and Kenenisa will never run in the same race because they are in the same team, the NN Running Team:

https://www.nnrunningteam.com/

Unless of course some organizers pay real good money to see them run together which is what I suspect will happen after Kipchoge breaks the 2 hour mark. Kenenisa is 37 so I guess they will want to do it soon.

The most likely candidate is London Marathon, they are the ones who can create the publicity and fork out the cash. Imagine something like $2 million guaranteed to Kipchoge and Kenenisa regardless of outcome and then something like $1 million dollars for the winner, $300,000 for breaking the course record and $1 million dollars to break the world record. They can advertise it as the greatest race ever..
