I bring to the attention of all Jubilee govt. lovers and haters to a well orchestrated and thinly veiled affront by some journalist working for the Nation Media Group especially those writing for the business daily. Few case examples can be seen here:

1. A report about schools

2. A report about unemployment

3. The same old tired news about the prices of commodities

The common denominator in this "News items" is that the United Nations and the World Bank are quoted heavily.I am not refuting that the price of Sugar and that of milk has gone up, my only problem is why this consistency in reporting especially in the BD, by the same journalists and referencing UN/World bank to give weight to their claims. Why now? Is the UN or the World Bank releasing these reports deliberately in an election year to discredit Jubilee? Or is it the crooked media digging year 2015 reports and publishing them now as part of an election strategy?

Am not a Jubilee apologist but I find this report by UNDP that Kenya has the region's highest unemployment suspect. Yet we're the region's largest and most diversified economy.....how TZ with a larger population and smaller human development capital has less unemployment beats logic.

To the unemployed or underemployed man and woman, of course the report is correct.

Factor in 'illegal immigrants/foreigners' with fake work permits like those notorious Chinese. These are contributing to unemployment numbers in Kenya as opposed to Tanzania which is strict with foreigner work permits

Time and again the guys at treasury have said that the debt level is manageable and within safe limits...Are these crooked journalists more qualified than Treasury CS and team? They don't want Kenya to take a loan and expand the port of Mombasa and remove the bottle neck by building SGR?
They don't want to see a super highway in Eastlando(Outer ring road). They don't want me to take a loan from my sacco and develop my broti in Kamulu

From Investor Lounge thread ............
Less foreign direct investments (both in terms of the number of projects and the amounts invested) combined with less portfolio investments resulted in less cash inflows into KE in 2016.
Quote:
Audit and consulting firm Ernst and Young says in the 2017 Africa Attractiveness Report that FDI fell 57.9 per cent while capital investment was down 55.5 per cent in 2016 compared to 2015.

Commodity dependent African countries have had their time in the cleaners, they should perform better in the short term compared to EA ones which have only just started experiencing hiccups. https://www.standardmedi...into-kenya-fall-by-58pc
