TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — With throngs of people waving the stars-and-stripes and signs with slogans such as "Stop the steal" in central Taipei, passersby would have been forgiven for mistaking the scene for an American battleground state like Pennsylvania or Georgia — if not for the iconic Taipei 101 looming in the background.

One participant in the rally, a student surnamed Hu (胡), said Trump has "protected democracy." He believes Trump has been a force for peace, listing the president's role in normalizing relations between Israel and Bahrain as an example. He also expressed a fear that the "Deep State" has infiltrated the American government and that Trump was the only leader not under the alleged conspiracy's control.

TEL AVIV

Israelis held a rally on Tuesday in support of US President Donald Trump at the American embassy in Jerusalem.

The participants made it into the capital in a caravan of vehicles adorned with US and Israeli flags.

As Trump took over the Oval office after defeating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 elections, the US-Israel ties were tense in the wake of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal and US silence on a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution against Israeli settlements.

Trump, however, has a long record of moves praised by Israel, including relocating the US embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv and recognizing the Golan Heights as part of Israel.

More recently, the US president played a pivotal role in Israel's normalization accords with the UAE, Bahrain and Sudan -- and there were more nations that will forge ties with the Jewish state soon.

I suspect The Big Lie will die soon, unless Cruz and Hawley decide to make it their own.

I tend to agree. I have a feeling those who control the world, with interest of POWER and MONEY "worked" to remove Trump. He was an obstacle to many of their "businesses". So and very soon you will see their business resume, including invasion and terrorist activities to promote their "businesses"... Not to mention provocaiton to Russia will resume where "they" left. They are baying for blood all over the world. Sad.

Methinks Putin reaaaally needed to get Trump to ease on the debilitating sanctions.
If things went as above, that's a bitter one for Putin to swallow.

In that context, has Putin being played!

Everybody needed the break... The temporary stand-off will at least postpone the imminent WWÌÌÌ.

But do not think Pütin is fooled. Both the Chinese and Rüssïä are aware of Uncle Sam character, such a deceiver!

I agree with @mavegs that, Trump presidency postponed wars in the world. I agree Biden will start from where the previous presidents left, where Hillary wanted to proceed from. From now on you will hear new invasions for minerals or oil... framing some country of some Biological weapons...

It was during Trump's presidency that we had the lowest invasion to other countries if not none. Least terrorist attacks, which we know are "created". Least international provocations... I think the weapons business men were not happy!

What made Trump popular in US and around the world has little to do with Trump as a person but more to do with the emerging discomfort, by natives of countries, about globalization and the free flow of people usually from emerging economies to developed economies and also the flow of financial resources from developed economies to emerging economies. It is what led to Brexit.

For a long time, citizens of western countries were used to emerging economies being a place for them to tour and feel sorry for the poor state of those countries, they were used to emigrants of those countries sweeping floors etc. but things have changed in the last 30 years, 60%+ of doctors, in US today are foreign born, majority of STEM related professions are foreign born, medium household income of some emigrant groups are twice that of US white families. Trump spoke to the frustration of white Americans because they feel like they're loosing their country to emigrants!

By the time the white men who dominated coal mining, car assembly lines, steal mills and agriculture- careers that were considered stable and well paying- by the time they opened their eyes, immigrants were running technology sector and leading industries of the future.

Ukweli. Asians especially have taken over in medicine, tech and real estate in the West. Three sectors that are seen as key to wealth creation. To the point where some STEM universities had to discriminate against Asians to protect their own

People from emerging countries supporting Trump don't really understand the danger of Trump worldview, globalization has been great for emerging countries

The irony.
Mtu mzima kubebwa akili is something that is truly tragic to see.

You can only pardon someone who has been convicted. No MAGAist has been convicted.

In other news, US authorities say they will not charge Trump supporters who stormed US parliament. I think the US has just realized that it will be extremely embarrassing to have political prisoners in their jails.

The US would have become the only country in the world that takes photos of political gatherings and then hunts down and jails the participants of the political rally/demonstration. Worse than North Korea.

Hundreds of Trump supporters turn up to cheer Trump as he plays golf at his West Palm Beach golf club in his first weekend after leaving office.

Trump has been impeached... again! What a loser!

They couldn't even manage 2/3 majority in the impeachment. Only got a poor 54%. Trumpism is a movement they can never stop. Americans want their old America back. Not the current america ran by gays, liberals, illegal immigrants and other trash. MAGA.

1) How is 54% 'poor'?

2) they just need to get the senate to impeach him and he is knocked out of future american politics through a technicality.

3) But you are right - Trump may be gone but the nasty ideology that is Trumpism won't dispear anytime soon.

He should register MAGA as a party & run on its platform in 2024. At least he would beat Republicans.

Don't you realize a 2nd impeachment is a road to block him from running in the future? Either way, the Republican party is broken now. Dems need to minimize the welfare thing and they are good

It will be hard to impeach him at the senate. Impeachment needs to be passed by a two-thirds majority in the Senate, which requires 67 votes. Currently senate is shared 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans. That means that 17 Republican senators would need to vote to convict Trump. So far no republican senator has said he will impeach Trump. Therefore get ready for Trump 2024. MAGA.

Also the impeachment is illegal since Trump has already left office. Just like your ex-employer cant call you for a disciplinary meeting after your contract has ended and you have left his employment. Its illegal and against human rights for your ex-employer to purport to discipline you post-employment so as to make you unemployable for the rest of your life.

These DEMONcrats are proving to be the most undemocratic humans on planet earth.
