CA head Wangusi doesn't think so IEBC head Chiloba doesn't think so Government knows it cannot.
Technically (not Politically) speaking, the Chief Technical head of Imasarat, with previous stints in Nokia, UUNET believes the answer only takes 2 short months, as below:

VSATs on cattle dipa and water holes? Those are our polling stations. Kenyans are too willing to spend big money to transmit results from cattle dips and water holes and poor primary schools than use the same money for more meaningful development of that very same polling station to aassist in its primary use. juzi we were transmitting for CAW Reps (that's the official name for MCAs) from Kalokol and mosiro... there was no coverage in the polling stations of those CAWs. I think Kenya becomes a developed country during elections where anything short of some fancy shmansy electronic system is seen to be mediocrity. si we spend that money huko during the 4 years? we talk big about electronic elections happening from random primary schools and laugh at proposals to have laptops in the same schools. We say... hata hawana shule wanasoma chini ya miti... during elections wacha watume results haraka kutoka chini ya hizo miti... hatuwezi ngoja 24hrs. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

Very good response - you've risen above the *technical* aspects Technology cannot buy trust neither respect nor loyalty. But it makes for a good excuse.

I am of the contrary opinion. Unless we spend this "big money", then the following will cease to exist: Cattle Dips Water Holes Poor primary schools CAW Reps Kenia as (we) know it today. Et Al. Instead, there will be Somalia, South Sudan, Burundi, et al. Let me be more precise: Spend that big money OR for any rubbish "njuala" you see Strawn all over the environment, there will be a human body part rotting away. How many "njuala" plasti bags/rubbish have you seen today? Feel me?

What #Baba is asking for is investment in elections results technology once and for all.... According to Jubilee the last mile has reached all villages In the business world, everyone is paid in two coins - cash and experience. Take the experience first; the cash will come later - H Geneen

The votes that count are in areas with coverage and that should work. I am talking about a law that dictates some stuff. IEBC as it happens is going with the said technologies. The contention is "what should happen in kalokol when things fail. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

There are better investments to pour our scarce resources into than permanent online connection for every Cattle Dip, Watering Hole, Poor Primary School and what have you, and which connection will be in use once every five years except the occasional By-Erection.

There is a lot of hyperbole in this discussion. The facts are tech is being procured that should work in these places... There are work arounds si mulipata results za CAWs hizi. The biggest contention is WHAT HAPPENS WHEN (NOT IF) THEY FAIL. All Mushrooms are edible! Some Mushroom are only edible ONCE!

According to Jubilee the last mile has reached all villages Its too late for that kind of investment. Maybe 2022. The time we have now is not enough to code test and train staff including kibarua. Stick around my friend. They will come out of the woodwork at the appropriate time. The dramatics are in the early booking of flights out of Nairobbery scheduled from July.

In Kenya, only the Nandi and the Agikuyu can go to real war.
So stop telling stories about how the country will be finished in 2017 if we don't invest vsat and other electronic results transmission gadgets.
That will never happen as long as these two tribes are on the same side

PEV only happens because there are influential and high profile politicians and personalities who incite, plan, support and bankroll it. In the absence of that nothing much would happen. Isuni yilu yi maa me muyo - ni Mbisuu
