Governor Kingi and his buddy the DJ were in Vipingo yesterday where by Kingi begged the residents to allow the city to be built. for more info check todays daily nation page 2.

Do the locals have a problem with the city ama it's Kingi who wants something to tuliza them?

The locals have been asking questions ever since the Sisal(Makonge) was cleared-off a big chunk of land on the eastern side of the Mombasa -Malindi highway neighbouring mombasa cement factory.Kingi himself unlike his "un-educated", juvenile and chest-thumping conterpart in Mombasa seems like he is serious about attracting investors and values investments....i suspect he(Kingi) is heavily invested in Centum.All in all, works have already staterd. Lets hope the DJ has the money or will attract money to invest on the 10,000 acres touching the beach

Thanks for this info.

Karibu boss....it is at times like this that you remember economics 101......that money is a scarce resource otherwise i will load on this thing heavily for the very very long term

Sad Sad :Sad
Money isn't scarce, it all depends with the side of the end you are holding. Someone who entered this bus sub twenties can still pull a sale and feel no pinch for doing so neither have a second thought about it considering the loss of belief exhibited with the downward momentum here.
How this stock got to its heights was purely on hot air, bitter promises and misinformations/ halftruths and innuendos that could not create a solid value base. This counter is yet to tank. Watch this space. You will be awakened by a thud sound when you properly land.
For over ten years this counter is just pure pain where it matters most and no sweet memories to hold on to. Kila kitu ni lipservice na kula kwa macho. The beating and monolising continues.

I expected two rivers grand opeining to catapult this stock to greater heights... what is not happening?

1) Centum only owns a small fraction of the mall.
2) We are in a bear market.
3) It may take a while for traffic to pick up into the mall.

thatsnot really possible.we have enough malls around to make investors worried about a possible glut in mall space!

Sad There was no enough or better publicity to(for) the Mall.
Again a person of the size of President should have been invited to open the mall as this was main opening and not soft opening.
Again this was time for the tenants to give discounts to public to encourage them to shop there. The publicity for the mall and discounts should have been there 2 weeks to opening in all media and selling of coupons

Those two already ate their cake. Now it is the turn or Old Mutual to "Kula Nyama" while Mworia, DJ, @Realtreaty and all the other Centum crew "meza mate".

hapa ni old mutual wataumia ...they bought two rivers off plan at 6.3B for 50% stake (though 40% is convertible)...which covered centum's costs for building it.Centum still has 100 acres to develop and of course constantly revalue to prop up their books....

That 40% convertible was just a formality.

At the opening of the mall today by President Uhuru Kenyatta Chinese ambassador spoke about this been one of chinese biggest investments in Kenya.He spoke on behalf of AVIC.
Several managers of Old Mutual properties/South Africans were also present.
The total investment in Two Rivers mall is $270mn.

For this mall the chinese and Old Mutual properties really pressed hard on Centum as they were desperate for someone to bail them out to complete the mall.
That is why James Mworia body language wasn't inspiring.Shareholders of Centum biggest losers.
The shareholding of the mall is as follows;
Old Mutual Properties---50%
Centum---29%
AVIC---18.9%
ICDC---2.1%
Wealth is built through a relatively simple equation
Wealth=Income + Investments - Lifestyle
