Bread and butter still remains Voice,Data and Mpesa.
If the two other companies focus on grabbing some share from safaricom in the mentioned three segments they will give them a run for their money.

true and especially when the people traffic is heavy with some doing it with alot of analog

safaricom should be cut to size before it becomes a hegemony in mobile and card payments

Oh yee Kenyans!!! Why thou hatest advancement, innovation, progress, growth etc. so?? Why thou vilify the hard workers? Would thee want they to be like KQ, Uchumi and Mumias so that they are not cut to size??

How many cards will Kenyans be forced to carry, especially men in our small kibetis/wallets?

Mara the:
2 Main bank ATMs (Credit and Debit),
4 supermarkets bonga poits,
2 Fuel cards,
2 health insurance cards (NHIF and UAP),
1 ID card,
1 KCB pepea,
1 Equity beba beba.

Why cant Safcom come up with an app where you can use your smart phone in place of the damn additional card? I believe the NFC can be used in this case suing the smart phone.

I am against this additional card!

I thought I read NFC somewhere in initial announcement , I would be surprised if safcom goes ahead and print another plastics that increases their cost of doing business.

safcoms threat can only be the government change of policies but not another company as things appear in the medium term and even longterm if status quo prevails

Agreed! I am a buyer at a lower price! Applause Applause Applause But the reality is that Safcom is doing quite well and remains a favorite of foreign buyers.

You are right.Kencell, zain, celtel tried but came to nought.Even the current competion from airtell, orange, equitell will not succeed. But even the Gok with 35% shareholding in safaricom, will not plot safcom downfall as it will be like shooting urself.
