I have been looking to import a hilux from japan,but several websites i have been importing from have many unit ex-thailand but very few ex japan.
How are quality of these ex thailand before commiting my mion

It's the same make of vehicle, built in the same factory and used in the same environment. Assuming all other factors are the same then shouldn't the differentiating factor be cost?

It's not clear which vehicles @Bartum has been importing from Japan. I personally have an ex-Singapore CRV and I don't think it's any much different from an ex-Japan one.

Hi @bartum, i happened to import an Ex-Thailand Isuzu Dmax in 2010 and i can say so far the car has never had any issues. I think japan ceased to manufacture pickups and the plants were relocated to thailand. So it will be very difficult to get any unit from there...and if you do...chances are that its origin will be thailand.

The only issue i had when importing back then was that there was no inspection body (Jevic) in thailand. So the inspection had to be done here by kebs after the unit arrived in msa (and they charged a whooping 15% of the cif cost). I don't know if that's still the case.

Thanks for contributions i think inspection may be available as the sellers are prominent japanese second hand dealers
