Kenya Power is targeting homes with a shift to fibre optic business, a move that is likely to result into stiff competition in internet service provision and possibly trigger a fall in prices

Roll it out Mr Chumo.At least some of us who live in the outskirts will have internet connection that is not in form of bundles.Bye bye bigBOX.

Don't celebrate too soon. While KP have the advantage of using posts and cables to roll out connectivity easily, they have much to learn about reliability and customer service, which in my opinion drive much of how one chooses service providers. And given they have only operated in a monopoly environment, I'm not sure they have the capacity to deal in a competitive world. Even Safaricom with its financial muscle is still taking baby steps in rolling out home fiber 1 year down the line...

Watch while KP just like Orange starts first connecting guys in karen, Runda, westlands where guys are already connected so uptake will be low, then they will pullout siting unprofitability
