OPPOSITION chief Raila Odinga has termed Deputy President William Ruto a hypocrite and an embarrassment to Kenya whose source of wealth must be probed.

In what is perhaps the most blistering attack on his former ally turned foe, Raila said what he called Ruto's fraudulent lifestyle was laid bare when he grabbed his own neighbour’s land and was fined Sh5 million.

The former Prime Minister also linked Ruto to the grabbing of Kenya Pipeline land in Ngong Forest as well as the Lang’ata Road Primary School playground.

“Who takes Mr Ruto seriously in this country? How much is his word worth? I won’t waste my time responding to what he says,” Raila told Citizen TV in an interview.

“In which country does he live? His own neighbour took him to court and this is on record and he knows it. He was fined Sh5 million for having grabbed his neighbour’s piece of land, so what proof do you need?”

“Every week, he is carrying a bag of money to harambees. Every week he donates 10 million. I was Prime Minister in this country, in fact I was earning a lot of money, more than the Deputy President, and we know his other sources of income. So he should stop jumping that he is generous,” Raila said.
