Btw naskia they backed out. They didn't put in the Sh1.5bn, don't know the reason given.

A whole IFC (investment arm of wb) didn't realize that it wasn't allowed to invest that much rather reduce it to some couple of millions dollars!! seriously? As I said before some of these press statements are geared to rope poor wanjiku.a well established organisation like that cannot and will never make such careless financial utterances.in their countries every utterances made carelessly has repercussions .so here in Kenya they know they can do that SHAFT wanjiku and get away with that. When I said I'll wait for it at 10 Bob somebody told me that this share isn't mboga sokoniLaughing out loudly .isorait

So, IFC is classified as an East African Institutional Investor? That's a new one.

If it was not for IFC, the subscription would have been less than 20%.

This i-reit concept is dead. Kenyans can't comprehend how a shopping mall in eastlands can be valued at billions at the same value with a +25 storeys building in upper hill.

It's clear from the article that it's not a case of ignorance of rules. IFC could have invested more if the uptake was better

The hot air here reminds of the hot air after the co op IPO which was also undersubscribed...

For now I have confidence in STANLIBs management of similar products.

You have confidence in Stanlib, the same way you had confidence in HomeAfrika.

How much is that mall been bought at again?

Mystocks shows that it closed at 21.50/- That's 9.47% down on the first day, but only 100 units traded.

I think this was a very poorly timed product launch. If it was in a bull market, Wanjiku would (as usual) come out in full speculation mode regardless of not being conversant with REITs.

But now you couple the liquidity crunch with bearish trend and then uncertainty about how good the returns would be, this one was going to be dead in the water.

But let's see, maybe with time (read at 10/-) it can be picked up; see how it goes.Pray

The only chance to push it up was on friday when there were no 'breaks' on a slide or shoot. HAFR managed to push up 100% to 25 from 12. Now at 1.4!
From today watch the 10% drops.
The road to 10 is just 7 days ( say 3 weeks due to no trade days ) away.
Then those wishing to jump aboard can set new entry targets
