Waaa. That video, that was a major firefight. I am still in shock. I had only seen the pikshas and not the video. I commend the KDF for their excellent response that subdued the terrorists.

Getting hold of that camera was a major victory in the fight against alshabab.

The dailymail has also published pikshas of the attack.

From those news reports, one can conclude that there is a kenyan al shabab cell based at the coast/NE that plans the attacks in collaboration with the alshabab cell across the border in somalia. The photos show the 2 groups linking up the day before the lamu attack. Infact some of those killed were from mombasa.

This must be the same group that carried out the mpeketoni attacks. You remember they (kenyan cell) were said to have hired 2 nissan vans from mombasa and linked up with the other wing (including the musungus) and then attacked mpeketoni. I think attacking the police station at mpeketoni really emboldened them and they thought they could do the same at the kdf barracks.

The security forces need to eliminate all remnants of the group to prevent any further attacks.

I think Alshabaab has been infiltrated! Reason

Observe the firefight and then the pictures of the dead militants. I would expect the bodies to be bullet ridden, full of blood and bullet holes. But from the shared pics, the guys are almost clean bearing in mind the hellfire they received. Or was there a sniper from KDF who took them out. All of them with a bullet to the head?

Could they have been eliminated by one of their own.. from behind?
Could the British/Germans/GoK have turned some recruits into informants?
Could some Militants have turned against their group and are working with authorities?
Notice also over such a victory, only one photo of the dead militants is in circulation. No parading like in Garissa. No Identities confirmed (even the Briton). A missing German. The mother does not want the body back home.
The British partially lift the tourism ban in Mombasa. the same guys who accurately predicted an attack.

From the photos during the preparations, there were about 30 attackers. About 15 were killed during the attack thus 15 need to be eliminated.

The star has picked up the story....
