First the marketing of this service is very poor if many educated Kenyans don't know how it works how about the wanjikus?

they were misreporting to CA they and equitel, active simcards is what should be reported.
Noted a huge drop in safaricom postpay subscribers and a jump in number porting, has prepay gotten cheaper than postpay.

Another case of banks wanting to hang on to inefficient stuff to maintain their revenues. Why should a bank to bank transfer of even 3k need to be cleared in 2 days as with RTGS? Banks will have to adapt and be efficient.

By the way does anyone know what the technology behind Pesalink is?... is it Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)?
There are too many opportunities all around. Open your eyes and maybe you'll spot one

What's bogus?

The service or the marketing?

Pesalink is wonderful guys.

Most banks have it on their mobile banking. Quite easy to use.

My problem with them is that they don't send me the reference unique transaction number like the mpessa reference number, this is good for follow up.

You may be looking at just one part of a large elephant. The experience depends on sending bank, receiving bank, time of day, platform (Internet or mobile), and God knows what else. I suspect the banks are being given APIs so they can do their own integration, with the result depending on the level of capability within the banks. Some like National Bank say it is not working yet, while Co-op works intermittently and receives happily via mobile, less happily via Internet

SAFARICOM

The study was undertaken as the CA could not legally declare mobile phone and data service Safaricom dominant without technical due diligence.

It concluded that Safaricom is dominant.

It states in part:

“The market analysis concludes that Safaricom is dominant in both the mobile communications and mobile money markets.

In both of these markets Safaricom enjoys, and has enjoyed for a long time, a very high market share (above 80 per cent in value).

DOMINANT

The CA should, therefore, declare Safaricom Ltd dominant.

This has important implications in promoting competition.

Under the EU framework, the “asymmetric” termination charge across networks is common practice.

This is where the dominant player is required to pay a slightly higher charge per call or SMS terminated in the smaller players’ networks.

Problem with all these products is that companies launch them but do not educate the consumer on how to use them.

I have seen Mvisa on the KCB MyKash Menu but have no ideal how it works.
