the worst traffic jam to have occured in recent times was yersterday,right from late afternoon through to 11pm. this happened in all the highways,avenues,streets and routes,including estates in nairobi. it coincided with the school reopening for the second term. my million question is do all school going kids drive? where else do the 'extra' vehicles come from during school terms. i can't just understand.

I was stuck in it from 5.30 to 7.

Some interesting observations:


Traffic from Bunyala Roundabout to Unveristy way was not moving as cops had blocked off.
Once past University way,it was clear until near Westlands Roundabout
Once past Westlands roundabout,Waiyaki way was clear.

This bring about some questions:


Why were the cops blocking traffic from flowing from Bunyala onwards,given there was little or no traffic past University way? This happens almost daily.
Why cant we block off entry into westlands between 5 and 8 pm from the rounadabout?If people want to enter,they go down waiyaki way and come back. That way,westlands roundabout will be clear.
