After carefully following and digesting the available information in the media, though very scratchy, I have come to conclude that the 76 zhong guo rens arrested in Runda the other day were not ordinary visitors and cyber criminals for that matter...Why??

These are my reasons...

1. The hi-tech equipment (both hardware and software) that these fellows had looked relatively simple, but very powerful tools to launch any kind of voice and data communications capture and retransmissions on a global scale.

2. The equipment were not merely meant for any ordinary communications, but rather for specific tasks...In my thinking, the tasks could be ranging from (a) fraud (highly unlikely) (b) espionage (c) cyber war launched outside china (d) capturing and decrypting all communications signals based on WiFi/WLAN platform and sending them to the zhong guo rens' Republic...

3. The manner in which these zhong guo rens entered the country un-noticed gave an impression that they needed to remain incognito. For the rens to operate optimumly, they needed ultimate privacy with absolutely no disturbance for them to carry out their "assigned" duties.

4. The chinese government want these fellows in china as soon as possible (not to prosecute them as they are telling us). In fact the zong guo rens Republic anxiety has reached a desperation level where they cannot hide their intentions to the Kenyan convernment any more. If these rens are ordinary cyber criminals as the PRC government is purpoting them to be, what do they (the 76 fellows) have and know that the PRC would not want anyone else to know?

5. They chose Kenya as their activities launching pad due to the Kenyas soft immigration stance on foreigners and the fatal corruption at the responsible ministry/department, security agencies and the citizens themselves.

In my opinion, the 76 zong guo rens were not ordinary cyber criminals or tourists or visitors. They were simply modern day spies!!!

I have been following too and the panic is palpable. It got even more suspicious where the reason given is that this fellows defrauded their own Shitzens millions of Yuans while here.....That's okay. The Chinese government can leave the Kenyan law to deal with them first and as soon as we are through with them, repatriate the mob and heck, they can do whatever they want with them there on.First crimes first!
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Not even the US can threaten China.
Gava is holding out for a sweetener, some big project here or there, or millions deposited in some people's Jersey accounts and then complicated diplomatic legalese will be wrought and the Chinese spies will fly home.
And then we shall accept and move on to the next scandal.
...
I think other spies, may be MI6, Mossad or CIA fingered the Chinese operation and then a tale was spinned that kawaida Kenyan cops stumbled upon them...that would be an interesting plot twist

Youre either ignoring or seem unaware that state sponsored cyber activity in China is sponsored by a division of the army.

This is an important point because:

1) Sensitive activities involving army officials would likely be confined to their embassy for diplomatic reasons. Records in the public domain show our "friends" from the west operate this way.

2) If these fellows are truly agents of a foreign government then why are they being charged with relatively minor crimes?

The fraud angle has fewer assumptions in my opinion.

It can happen...I am very sure the convernment already know what these fellows were doing...it probably has all the detailed data files which may have either been captured or sent to any part of the globe by the rens.

The issue is, if what i think is the case, then the PRC would be very afraid to be exposed and she would be ready to pay any price...Sure...not to Kenya or any other third world country!!!

The Zhong guo ren government does not wven want them fellows tried here in Kenya...Why has the bilateral agreements between the two now become less important than the "criminals"...hapa iko maneno.

Something big is being covered here by the PRC.
