What level of male chromosomes will make a female be considered a male? Any doc in the hse? Surely this Semenya lady has male chromosomes in plenty.

What is it with appearance? A talented 18 year old can't have her possible moment of glory in peace? Remember Maria Mutola some years back and our own Jepkoskei last year?

see it through my lens?

Let the girl run.

So what if our darling Janeth is under threat. That is the nature of competition. She will get over it and get better or leave the race to the true runners.

No changing of the gender goal posts can remove the fact that Caster is a very talented runner, one deserving to step in the great Maria Mutola's spikes.

You r right. You dont need a doctor to confirm this. Even the blind can touch and tell the difference.

I also felt cheated to see this 'Lady' easily taken on those sweet supuus..sh-he was was simply strolling at gear 2 while the babes were heaving and pumping in overdrive..i couldnt see why he-she was allowed to compete with females inspite of her Female Name and probably a prosthetic Phussy..Nothing else said she was a lady,

She may as well be a Transgender or A Eunuch but a Gal NOOOOOO!!!!

It is a difficult case... being female scientifically depends on absence of the Y chromosome. There are many people with Y chromosome who have female physical features. These could be due to insensitivity to some hormones or lack of some enzymes.

the other extreme are females who have male genetic make up...live all their lives as females only to found as males during infertility investigation. A more common form is high levels of testosterone in some females which could be genetic. This is a common form in some parts of the world. The athletes rights should be considered as not everyone would like to have examinations. Moreso,if she is either of the groups, does she want to know and mess up her life when she has been living as a lady. I wonder if she would be put through this if she was a white blonde from western europe. We ve also heard of the easter european groups.!!

@ cnn,

@wakanyugi

Maria Mutola was also subjected to similar investigations during her heydays......The results were never made public though she was allowed to continue running.

@ Tajiri,

I quite agree with you,

What is interesting is the silence of the South Africans on this matter.

S/he is a brilliant athlete. The simplicity with which s/he does it seems to amaze me. We however have to be fair to the (other) ladies.. One can just see how much they are struggling to keep up with her/him. It does not take rocket science to determine whether s/he is a he or a she. Its so simple. Just get herhim naked!!

And on another point...i doubt that voice. its so deep.

She's an African and the defination of a woman in Africa is clear as magigi puts it. Lets forget about this foreign chromosome thing. Its the type of that central thing that matters.

Looking at her I was also a bit baffled.
Cant blame her, assuming there is no foul play.

But then who the heck gave her the name 'semen' !

It has happened before. Women who have mens genetic makeup have been disqualified as not being women enough.

There was a transgender tennis star who had gone to court protesting that she has not been allowed to compete under her new 'sex' category. Ndunia kusa kwisa
