I hope he was not allowed to board the other plane ...and gets blacklisted by KQ for a year or so!

Sadly he still travelled with the others!

Our so called leaders despite their exposure and numerous travels behave like cats on heat.

@ Butter,I am trying to replay the scene.
At immigration,
-present pp/finger prints/ profile. This happened witht dramas.

Next stop is the gate .Armed with printed bp,did they refuse to present their pp? and ran past the x-ray?
meaning hata x-ray hawakufanya ? Where was the security cz wangeshikiwa kwa x ray.

@kysse, I'm also wondering how they were not stopped earlier in the process but with self-check in, there may be an explanation. His behavior however cannot be excused.

and would this be the same driver who was present at mbagathi road incident? Liar

And you people want direct flights to the US when some passengers are refusing to provide their identification documents (as airtravel regulations demand) and taking the plane hostage for hours? Homeland security are taking note.

But I think it's a lesson learnt and it's good this time it has been relayed all over they will never do the same...Elizabeth Ongoro said she will never fly KQ after such an incident happened and will always do fly 540 to coast but what she is forgetting is that it's a KCAA regulation, fly 540 also has to follow the same rules...the culture of "you should know people" is something of the past...respect kazi ya wengine as they respect yours.

This story doesn't add up!!
Once you check in,you do not always go directly to board the plane

From my limited travel, domestic travel gate closes 30mins before departure; What were they doing between the time they checked in and the time they boarded the plane, why did KCAA wait to evict them from the plane when they could have been evicted from the lounge?
If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

From FB I see Senator Martha wangari had a similar situation but she managed to fly, humility is a virtue!!!

Quote:
Wetangula situation!
This morning i was almost having a Weta Kenya Airways situation. I forgot my ID (i never do that!) . I was however nice to the ladies serving me n they allowed me to board.
My take on the whole saga with Weta is simple just be nice! You dont have to shout or quarrel every1 expecting they know you. Mark you the majority of the staff serving you there were born in the late 90s. They know Sonko and Uhuru fullstop. So dont catch feelings ukiambiwa utoe ID, be humble and explain if you forgot.
Good day people.

There however no excuse for breaking of rules even by her!!!

I get the feeling it was not so much the ID part of it but rather his arrogant behavior akin to Madam Barasa of "you should know people fame"

I have travelled without my ID and what the ladies do is to ask you for any other form of identification that bears your photo and ID number if possible. A DL,Medical card, Student card etc. does work.

Am sure he has learnt a lesson. Times are quite hard for these Cord Principles.

ION where is cute boy Bro Steve K Musyoka? He is too quite.

I think this all episode was just to embarrass them...it is just a domestic flight...Ababu could just have boarded his helicopter or you need an ID for that too...

Anyway The pilots were not heroes for standing their ground,,,,they were following orders from someone....

Why in the hell would you need an ID for domestic flights...Once you get your ticket you shld be allowed to fly...Just like taking a Chania Bus to Mombasa.
