This distributed financial platform is the future of ATS and ECNs. Who needs an old fashioned 4% fee asset exchange centralized system when a more robust decentralized low cost alternative exists.

NSE and East African exchanges should get with the program

Overstock.com plans to use this platform to issue its stock to the public by creating a bitcoin-inspired securities trading platform. Patrick Byrne CEO says it will take out 20% of the costs associated with issuing an IPO on Wallstreet!

Bitcoin is really happening!! Locally I have tried the BitX bitcoin exchange and it is quite straight forward and the process is smooth.
Also there is the bitcoin online Peer -to-Peer Lending website BTCJam with quite some Kenyan participation...

Unfortunately, there is not enough volumes on local exchanges, so the prices are not in tandem with global prices. Anyways,

here is a proper BTC chart site where the real action happens. Chinese, US and European exchanges all under one roof

Bank of England statement:

The Bank of England did notice the innovation in bitcoin’s technology, particularly its decentralized payments system and public ledger, averring that the ladder could fundamentally alter the way payment systems work and proves that digital records can be securely stored without any central authority.

“The key innovation of digital currencies is the ‘distributed ledger’ technology that allows a payment system to operate in an entirely decentralized way, with no intermediaries such as banks,” the BoE’s quarterly report stated. “It may be possible in the future — in theory, at least — for the existing infrastructure of the financial system to be gradually replaced by a variety of distributed systems.”

It added: “This development could allow any type of financial asset, for example shares in a company, to be recorded on a distributed ledger. Distributed ledger technology could also be applied to physical assets where no centralized register exists, such as gold or silver.”

seems Mic_Mic is "bitcoin &..." and "bitcoin&.." is Mic- Mic. there isn't any other topic you've contributed on!!!!
@Mic Mic I wonder why 48/51 posts are all yours with only 3 different wazuans posting single post on this topic. I suspect "wazuans" don't have trust/confidence in you!

I know this because I am doing this intentionally. if you go back to the beginning of this thread, you will see I started this thread exactly for the purpose I am using it for now.

Also, the stats seem to indicate people are viewing the thread as an aggregated source of bitcoin info over say, a to-fro conversation. Which is perfectly fine because viewing is still taking part in the community.

Lastly, I DO participate on this site - REAding! i don't write much but i do read up where I can.
This is a forum thread and I am well within the rules to post as much as I wish.

Admittedly, I am not keen on the NSE because I have my doubts about its transparence, operations, governance, structure etc. IMO It is not a FAIR market in the real meaning of the word free capital market.
