All this el nino talk is just hype. We will only get normal short rains. If South C and mukuru slums flood like they did recently during normal rains, they will be shouting from the roof tops about el nino. And pocket the 50b el nino money.

Nope. We have been getting such rains all the time. Infact that is mild rain compared to last rain season. Seems people will be uploading every little pool of rain water to fit into the el nino narrative.

Boss, you sound like Donald Trump and the people who say there's no global warming.

That was day 1 of the rainy season. If you use a little logic, if day 1 is already having an issue in that area what about after 2 weeks or the 3 months of continuous rain they are talking about.

This is not a political thread. the el nino narrative was not started by jubilee or cord. Google it.

They should be using the el nino billions to unclog drains and repair/reinforce dykes and bridges etc so that no flooding occurs during the rains i.e to make things elnino-proof. But what they are doing is to allocate funds to be used during/after the rains to help cope with or repair anticipated damage. You will see them donating packets of unga and blankets to flood victims and claim they have used the billions. This is a sure way to eat the funds.
