I know it is 20/20 hindsight but this is one bus I missed.
They were at 3/- within living memory!!! And you could buy as many as you could afford!

You are not alone,ksh 2.60 and ignored it.Though i had a brief dalliance with it between ksh 27 to ksh 38.

Equity took the plunge early and is now #2 in DRC. It would not surprise me if it becomes #1 by 2027.

Though the market is huge so many banks can get in and ride the growth.

KCB and others will have to pay a lot more for entry.

DY of 8.8% on my entry price of 34. Not bad at all.

Great. They have maintained pandemic level loan loss provisions hence the lackluster results. Probably warranted because if there is something this bank does best is making monster size bad loans.

Laughing out loudly d'oh! Laughing out loudly d'oh!
They waited until 4Q2021 or even 1Q2022 to realize the loans had gone bad. The unaudited 3Q2021 profits were higher than 4Q2021.

Lousy dividend. Lousy RoE.

The dividends might be good but there is nothing to clap about regarding the 2021 figures. For instance;

Revenue from core business = 550M
Administrative expenses = 500M

Is this a business that exists to pay salaries of top execs???

The NSE 2021 results mirrors the pathetic state of the current bear market. That the stock exchanges' net profit for an entire year, 159M, is lower than the prices of some upmarket houses.
