RAO has planned his coup with the constitution in mind. Jubilee, not known to be great thinkers, should take RAO's dementia seriously. RAO is using our tribalism against the constitution.
The rally was basically to pass a message to Uhuru to accept the following non-negotiable conditions during the proposed
Annan meditation conferences:
1. What he wants/needs is half of government, nothing less will pacify him.
2. He is absolutely not willing to wait until the next elections, right now will do just fine.
3. His utter rejection of Hassan and the IEBC i.e. he does not accept any electoral body as currently constituted (this I believe to be just a decoy. Who would oversee a referendum and how long would it take to reconstitute a new IEBC acceptable to RAO?)
4. Flex his muscles by showing Uhuru his “1m” soldiers who are ready to obey his every whim and threaten to let slip his dogs of war should Uhuru refuse to negotiate a ceasefire with him.
RAO will not compromise on this ceasefire, he's way past that now. Were Uhuru to accept by inviting him into cabinet, RAO would immediately insist on 11 dockets for himself and cronies (I understand from his utterances that the Waiguru, Ole Lenku, and Rotich dockets are his first choice), thereby becoming the de-facto prime minister again. This is his constitutional civilian coup to quickly get nusu mkate AIG and gift us four years of constant bickering.
