How can we curb terrorism on our soil?

Morning all. I thought it would be interesting to get the views of you wise wazuans on this topic. We have all been affected negatively by this and it looks to me like we are either not doing enough or we don't know what to do. I know most of us are not experts but we are citizens and should have a view. You never know, maybe the way to a solution to this lies with one of you.

My view is that we need to instruct UNHCR to move the refugee camp to within the borders of Somali and out of Kenya and have the camp protected by African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM) while our soldiers guard the border. Also have only flights and no vehicles coming through from Somali. Let's borrow a leaf from Ethiopia.
We should also either deport or return to the camps all somali aliens and to be fair all Sudanese aliens.

What are your views and accept my apologies if there's a stronger thread on this existing.

Did you see how annoyed they were with government for being returned to NE. They were even 'threatening' the government.smile Anyway, they should be moved. But we should ask ourselves how they sneaked out of the camps and made it to Nai in the first place. There in lies a bigger problem because if that particular one is not sorted, it doesn't matter how far inside Somali we take them, they will still make it back here.

Stop corruption especially within the police,immigration and registration of persons departments

That would only work if the wall had sensors so you know which part has been breached because it's a difficult terrain to survey and man and we know these guys have weaponry to easily bring the wall down but I'm sure Chinese can fund it in money and expertise.

Its a process!

1. Get out of Somalia (all the tourist we were fighting to protect are now gone anyway) smile

2. Build a massive fence around all our borders. Its way cheaper than a wall and has been fairly effective in SA and USA

3. Seriously step up border patrols to include 24 hr patrols, air patrols and CCTV.

4. Develop marginalized areas of the country to reduce domestic grievances.

5. Refugee camps should be exactly at the borders at worst to monitor movement of Refugees.

6. Refugees outside camps should have special IDs.

7. OleLenku, Kimaiyo, Gichangi, Muhoro and Waweru should all go! All are either to old or flat out incompetent

8. NIS should be revamped into a 21st century spy network.

9. Arming of private security or significantly beef up police service.

10. Consult with Museveni on how he does it! smile

11. Deal with corruption. This would be hard however because corruption is one of the definitions of Kenyan society! Sad

who told you somali refugees are actually the ones bombing you? it's nywele ngumus like you and me!! building a 700km wall is pointless and expensive (it's like building a wall from Mau Summit to Mambasani)
