All recommendations so far from the brokerage firms are a buy with 20-50% upside potential. Very wide % difference.

[quote=hisah]How many brokers have a buy reco on this listing? How can the brokers rate this listing yet it is a part of them? Is this not conflict of interest?

Update - I can see CMA noted the conflict, but when the window is about to close. Bad taste Sad

There are only two emotions in the stock market, fear and hope. The problem is, you hope when you should fear and fear when you should hope

Wait for refunds after getting so little.

I'm staying out of this one coz its likely to be highly oversubscribed which is followed by the refunds drama.

Lots of applicants. Over subscription almost looks certain. Refunds are directly into your account.

Quote:
Stockbrokers reported increased retail customer traffic from Friday, which they said mirrors previous IPOs characterised by a last-minute rush to buy shares.

“We have had good interest from the retail investors. We can also see support coming in from our institutional investors who have been firming their commitments to buy and given that there are only 66 million shares available, it would be a surprise if there was no full subscription at least,” said a manager at an investment bank.

3rd September is our date with destiny, now we are at the mercy of calculations over, below or par. Over I should think, but we'll wait for final figures then.

NSE IPO reminds me of the 2006 Kengen IPO, very many skeptics predicting a bear while an equal number of optimists predicting a bull run. At the end those who bought at list price of 11.90 and sold at ksh 40+ are the ones who enjoyed the fruits of their decision. The skeptics joined the party, some a bit to late.

I see a massive over-subscription with a 40-50% gain on day one.

Now if you only get 500 shares worth 4750 and it gains on 50% that's just....d'oh!

the logic is that guys will try to buy soon after trading starts, this will rally it to around those figures, after that it will settle and can go either way, but up is more likely than down.
