KResearcher highlights:- In the first quarter of 2013/2014,the County Governments spent a total of Kshs. 7.11B (55%) of total expenditure on staff compensation
* Counties collected revenue amounting to 4.3bn out of a quarterly revenue target of 67.3bn (6.5% performance). West Pokot topped with 32.5% of revenue target, Nairobi only 8.3% collected, Kakamega was last with 1.1%
- Counties spent a total of Kshs. 13B which represented an average absorption rate of 4.8% and no County met the 1st Qtr target of 25%
- The Counties with the those lowest absorption rates were Mandera (1.2%), Wajir (1.3%) and West Pokot (1.3%)
- The Counties with the highest absorption rates were Bomet (12.3%), Nairobi City (10.8%) and Trans Nzoia (7.0%)
