I stay in Embakasi area, near Mombasa Rd. For the last 4 months, we have been been subjected to almost daily blackouts by Kenya Power. Sundays are especially torturous, as they normally black us out from 9.00 am to 5.00pm.

Today, between 10.00 am, and 10.00pm, we've only had power for a total of 2 hrs. Calls to their call centre are a waste of airtime.

I am seriously thinking about installing solar panels for lighting and Tv/fridge.

I think there is a problem because this is happening all over the country.
kplc should come up and tell us why.
Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...

Life is like playing a violin solo in public and learning the instrument as one goes on.

No! Don't exaggerate.

In my neighbourhood, right here in Nairobi, we haven't had an outage for about three month - continuous power, not even a blink!

But before that, we used to be switched off every Tuesday and Sunday, 9am to 5pm.... they asked us to be patient as they sort out an major upgrade. This went on for about six months.

I guess they lived up to their promise because now, we are getting "clean" power. Even my music system sounds better!

In view of our experience, I'd urge you to also be patient.

It seems to me as if KPC have been rationing for quite some time now. Look at the dailies section where everyday large portions of the country are experiencing power interruptions
If you stay ready, no need to get ready.

Same with me, our power has been quite stable for some months. I think it last went off during the April rains.
